KEVIN W. RYAN's personal injury practice is generally in the areas of car and truck accidents and injuries caused by unsafe products, fires, and electrical accidents. He has been practicing law in Virginia since 1982 when he graduated from the Washington & Lee University School of Law. He moved to Charlottesville, where his practice before 1992 was a mix of commercial transactions, banking, landlord-tenant, and personal injury.
Since 1992 his practice has been exclusively in the area of personal injury and wrongful death, helping injured people and their families. He has pursued cases in Virginia and West Virginia where he is admitted to practice. With the help of local counsel, he has also pursued cases in Florida, South Carolina, Colorado, and New Jersey. Kevin has obtained several multi-million dollar settlements for clients over the past few years, all of which have been subject to confidential settlement provisions except for a $2.5 million dollar settlement in 2009 which was reached during a mediation with the McCammon Group (mediators).
Kevin plays a Taylor 612 acoustic guitar and a Breedlove CM. He has been a meditator for over 35 years since attending the Arica Institute’s 40-Day program in Vermont in 1974. When the weather allows, he enjoys riding his Buell XB12X motorcycle on the backroads of Central Virginia. He has three children - a son, Ian, who is a writer for Bioware in Austin, Texas, for its new game Star Wars: The Old Republic; a daughter, Anna Fox Ryan, who is an artist in Savannah, Georgia, who has been featured in The South magazine and has appeared in national circulation art magazines; and a daughter, Eva, who attends Northwestern University outside Chicago where she is majoring in flute performance.
