A native of Delaware, Abby moved to Virginia to study Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating cum laude. While at VCU, Abby demonstrated a talent and passion for advocacy in our justice system. Her research on police interrogations of children earned her the privileged opportunity to educate Virginia Commonwealth police officers, teachers, and other community leaders on strategies to reduce false confessions among minors.

After graduating from VCU, Abby worked as a paralegal at a small criminal defense and personal injury firm. This experience confirmed her desire to make her career in the law, leading her to attend William & Mary Law School. There, she served on the William & Mary Law Review as Articles Editor, interned for United States Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Hanes, and worked as a 1L summer associate at the Federal Public Defender’s Office. She devoted any spare time to assisting individuals with felony convictions restore their voting rights and to raising money for students interested in public service internships and careers as Secretary of W&M’s Public Service Fund.

Abby lives in Charlottesville with her fiancé and their two dogs, Rocco, a Boston Terrier, and Willie, a Basset Hound. If you see her outside of the office, she is likely to be covered in paint and dog hair—in her free time, she enjoys thrifting and refinishing old furniture, snuggling with her dogs, and reading.
